A Glimpse of Our Thanksgiving

Here's a few pics from our Thanksgiving. My Grammy and Grampy came (my mom's parents), my mom's brother Steven with his wife Sherry, my mom's brother Glenn and his wife Brenda, and their boys Zach and Josh. And of course, me, Rodney and Clinton. Chelsea couldn't join us because she was off with her boyfriend's family.

At some point in the day, Clinton sweet talked someone into giving him a water hose.

Mother is on the chamber in her town and they were having an ornament contest, so mother made all of us make an ornament. Below is Grampy (who has two Masters in Art) working on his very scary reindeer. We were shocked to find out it did not win.

Here is Rodney working hard on his ornament. Rodney has no art degrees and I'm not sure that I've ever even seen him color before. We were shocked to find out he DID win 2nd. He beat all of us!

Here's a group shot of all the masters at work. My Aunt Brenda (in red) won third with her very pretty reindeer.

My dad does cowboy cooking. Which is done over hot coals in dutch ovens. Everyone LOVES his dishes and he can make just about anything--breads, meats, cobblers, vegetables, etc. After giving my dad his assignments, mother realized she had delegated out everything but the sweet potatoes. My Grammy brought the turkey and dressing and pumpkin pies, my Uncle Glenn brought ham and green bean casserole, and my Uncle Steven brought fudge and pecan pie. My dad made the biscuits, cabbage and onions, vermicelli, cowboy potatoes, and the chicken fried venison appetizer. Here's a few pics of what a cowboy Thanksgiving looks like. And you'll have to excuse the mess, my parents are adding onto their house, so there are bits of construction remnants here and there throughout the pics.
