More Beach Pictures

This little girl loved Clinton and tried to give him kisses, but he wanted nothing to do with the kisses! I guess he's saving them all for mommy....good boy.

Checking out the water.

This is one of Clinton's mad faces....he wasn't happy that I had picked him up!

Riding back to the house from the pool! I see a big nap coming on....or was that wishful thinking?

An attempt at family pictures....ha!

A few more beach shots...

Fun at Gulf World with cousin Emma and uncle Brian. Aunt Alesha and I were there, too...but we were holding the cameras, bags, sippy cups, and stroller!

Checking out the Sea Lions!

Not too happy to discover a monkey on his back!

Clapping for the divers at the diving show!

I should also mention that Clinton threw his sippy cup into the shark tank and uncle Brian bravely reached in and grabbed it! It's not like they were Great Whites...

We're Baaaaack!

Sorry for the delay in new posts. We had some visitors (Bebe and Pop) and then went to the beach. Make sure to scroll down, I've made several posts tonight. I will post more pictures later. Good night for now.

Some Beach...Somewhere...Misses Us Tonight

Clinton at the beach on Day 1...not loving it. He wouldn't leave our hips and cried a bit...

...but by the last day, he was running like his usual wild self! He was running up and down the beach and in and out of the water. He was sitting in the waves and didn't want anyone to touch him!

Jumping in the pool! This boy isn't scared of anything!

Loving the swimming pool...

More Panama City Beach pictures to come!!

This Is How We Do It...

"Mowing" the yard. Clinton loves to do things that Rodney does...even the yucky chores like mowing the yard. After seeing Clinton's fascination with mowing, I bought him a bubble mower that he likes, but he still prefers the real thing. As someone who has mowed the yard TWO whole times, I know how hard that mower is to push and I'm amazed when Clinton goes strutting across the driveway with it.

Playing golf in the driveway. After watching Rodney hit some practice balls in the front yard, Clinton started going after his clubs. Since daddy has expensive clubs that mommy doesn't want to have to replace, Clinton got his own set of clubs for $3 at Target (seriously, is there anything that store doesn't have??). Clinton loves them and loves to show off for people when they visit.

Bebe and Pop Come for a Visit

Last week Bebe and Pop squeezed in a quick trip to Tennessee to see little Clinton before we headed to Florida for the beach. Even though Clinton was sick most of the time they were here, everyone still had a good time. Clinton showed Bebe and Pop how he plays golf, "mows" the yard, and plays ball in the house. We loved having my parents here and can't wait to see them in August when we pack it up and head back to Texas for another visit!!

Pop helping Clinton with his golf clubs.

Bebe and Pop offering some TLC after a little fall in the driveway...nothing new there!

Playing chase around the dining room table..

The Mommy Do - Change 4

Nine years ago I flew to South Dakota to visit my aunt and uncle, Robin and Chris. Robin had just given birth to her second baby and she was still as beautiful as ever. One of the most stunning things about my aunt is her gorgeous long, blonde hair. It's so thick and full of body...hair we'd all kill for. I remember her saying that her hair was one thing she wasn't willing to sacrifice for motherhood. She would continue to maintain the long hair and not succumb to the "mommy-do" (chopping it off for convenience).

However, a few years later after giving birth to her fourth child, I received a Christmas card and there I saw it....Robin was sporting the "Mommy Do". The children had won, and Robin had to give in. No worries, though...I saw Robin just a few weeks ago and it's all long and beautiful again! (Not that it wasn't beautiful short...I just love her long hair!)

Well, after making the same hair commitment, it seems I have caved after only one child! Two weeks ago I chopped about 8-10 inches off of my hair--I couldn't take it anymore...but I think I'm still kind of stylin'.

Below are some pictures of me and Rodney before getting to go out child-free. I had to work really hard trying to make the mommy do look trendy!! ;-)

...our niece, Emma, snuck into one of our pictures! She LOVES the camera!

I found it!!

Mother believes in traveling light. So much so, that she has always kept the guest bathrooms stocked with all the toiletries, hair appliances, and eye wear care that Chelsea and I need. So, when we travel it's all about clothes and shoes!! Mother has also decided to keep one of my guest bathrooms stocked with her supplies. They have been safely stowed away under the sink in a cute, leopard print bag...until last week. Clinton discovered the new treasure and by the time I realized there was a troubling silence in the house, the entire bag's contents were scattered across the floor and Clinton was checking out each and every item with great curiosity. I tried putting everything back in the bag and putting the bag back under the cabinet...however, he continued to go back over and over throughout the weekend, so I've had to find a new location for the bag.

Hey, Bebe! Thanks for all the neat treasures!

Ooh, a toothbrush. I love toothbrushes!

Bebe, how do you feel about sharing toothbrushes?

What do you mean we have to clean up?

Calling All Runners...and Wannabe's

A couple of things I should note about my COMMITTED post that have been brought to my attention. Neither Chelsea or Brian are fully committed to the half marathon, despite Operation Run-Like-A-Kenyan that has commenced. Their very busy schedules may not permit that many days away from the big D. AND who knew that the Marathon to Marathon actually has a full marathon race that's a Boston qualifier? Not me. So, if you really want to run a full one...you can...without me....I'm a halfer this year.

Now, I know I have a LOT of Texas readers...seeing as this whole blog was started for you! So I would like to challenge you to join us for the Marathon Relay...which means you need to find a partner who is also willing to run/walk with you. How fun would it be if we could all meet up and spend a weekend in the middle of nowhere? Seriously, have you been there? ...middle of nowhere. And I would be more motivated if I knew more people coming....and maybe you would be more motivated by that too. So, if you've been tossing around the idea (Emily), here's your chance....I say we all join Brian's Operation Run-Like-A-Kenyan....or Walk Like an Egyptian if you want....it's just for fun!

A few names I'd like to throw out there for the challenge are....drum roll please...and these are in no particular order.... EMILY (you shouldn't have mentioned you were thinking about it!) ....next we have WHITNEY (you ran track in college, so I know you have it in you...and I'd love to see you!) ...up next, SAMANTHA (so what if you just had a baby, this will be a great way to lose that baby weight you were whining about!) ...we can't forget NANCY P. (you run all the time, might as well come run with me) ...the lovely GENTRY (because I'm your older cousin and I think it would be good for you!) ...HEATHER (okay, so you live in Tennessee...we'll train together here and then you can fly down with me! Yeah...great idea!) ...same goes for you KELLY R. ...and last, but certainly not least COLTER (I already told your sister to come, so you should be there, too! I'm sure the Airforce Academy has gotten you into tip top shape...so no excuses!). This list is not limited....we would love for anyone to join us.

Did I mention there is a dance and party at the Marathon Motel Saturday night after the big race? Enticed yet? See the link below and let me know if you plan on joining us?? Happy Running!

COMMITTED...I think. - Change 3

So, there was a time before Clinton...a time before Rodney...when I was a runner. I ran all the time. In fact, when Rodney and I started dating I was running up to 7 miles a day...our dating seriously interfered with my working out.

Well, I think I'm committing myself to running once again. I really enjoy it once I get into it, it's just getting started that's so hard. A few weeks ago I posted that I had run with Rodney and was so proud of myself...what I didn't follow up with was how much pain I was in during the following days...OUCH! When did I get so old?

Chelsea and I (along with Mom and Dad) have committed to running the Marathon to Marathon in October. This takes place in Marathon, TX. It's actually just a half marathon that you run with a partner and your times are combined for a "full" marathon time. The two who have not completely committed are Rodney and Brian (although Rodney seems to be more on board these days). Dad has suggested Chelsea and I team up and run against Brian and Rodney as a team...I like this idea.

So, to my sweet Rodney and Chelsea's dear Brian, I say....BRING IT!!
