Stinky's 1st Halloween!

For Clinton's first Halloween we went to my friend Adrien's house for her annual Halloween party. It was really fun. We had chili, butternut squash soup, cornbread, chips and dip, cookies, apple cider, and other yummies. Clinton found himself in a sea of adorable girls and had a great time. He also got to wear his costume for the umpteenth time. You'll notice some pics he has it on and some he doesn't. It was a little warmer tonight and his costume was fur (fake, of course) on the outside and heavy fleece on the inside. The captions above each picture are Clinton's words. ;-)

Daddy...is there going to be anyone here for me??

Oh, yeah....I see some people for me.

There's little miss Maggie...

...and there's Ella June...

...and I see Maguire...

....and, of course, Dalby.

Ah, hmm...we need our privacy over here. (This is when Maguire and Clinton's evening together began)

Oh, Maguire....I'm over here!

Oh, yeah, dad.....she's sweet as sugar!

You come back and see me anytime, alright?

I didn't mean to make my girl cry....here, give her back her broom. I'm sorry!

Oh, Maguire, I love you!

Let me give you a hug....dad, some help here please.

Wait, Maguire.....I didn't get your number!

Sunday School Family Halloween Party

This skunk does not look amused.

A skunk and a puppy...how cute.

Fall Festival

Emma's preschool had a Fall Festival and we were invited. Below are a few pictures of Clinton....some in his Tennessee sweatsuit and some in his Halloween costume. I'm pretty sure he was the cutest skunk ever!

Checking out the ponies.

Family photos.

This skunk is done! Stay away from that tail! :-)

Emma the Entertainer

Emma is our neice who is 3 and a half and FULL of sass. The other night she turned their family room fire place into her stage and sang us some Pooh songs into her hairbrush microphone. Below are some pictures of our little entertainer.

Sing it, sister!

Oh,yeah....

Can't you just see the sass??

The long awaited standing series...

Super Mom!

I often jokingly refer to myself as Super Mom, and my friends knowingly laugh because I'm the mom who locks her kid in the car at the grocery on a 110 degree day requiring a fire crew for rescue, I'm the mom who rolls her eyes at her kid for whining all the way through Target only to discover when it's time to leave I can't find my keys anywhere until I see them underneath my child jabbing him in the back, and I'm the mom who has on several occassions forgotten to pack diapers in the DIAPER bag!! Well, I recently had another lapse in judgement...but Clinton thoroughly enjoyed this one. Becoming a mom pretty much means giving up time to yourself, free hands to do what should be easy tasks now turned complicated with one hand, and a schedule revolved around you. Well, the other day....I just wanted to eat a hot breakfast....a homemade breakfast burrito with eggs, black beans, and rotel....and I wanted to make it with two hands and eat it sitting in a chair by myself. So, to entertain my child I handed over a bowl of smashed up bananas that he refused to eat and enjoyed a good 15 minutes to prepare and eat my breakfast and even had some time to take pictures!

This is one lapse in judgement that is sure to be repeated!!!

New Pictures Coming Tomorrow...

Okay, so I'm on my work computer and I don't feel like switching over to my Mac and uploading pictures since it's past my bedtime. However, I promise to post pictures tomorrow of Clinton standing, playing in bananas, and drying off in his longhorn towel. Please be patient with me...

Oh, and here's a small glimpse into my day these days...this is for you mothers who are so wishing your babies were mobile. These are the sounds I continue to hear throughout my house.

Lots of musical toys. This means Clinton's in place and entertained. Music is silenced and two little hands and two little feet can be heard making their way across the wood floor. This means Clinton has ventured off of his foam play mat and is looking for trouble. The hands and feet go silent and a squeal is let out followed by some hands banging either on the window seal, the dog's water bowl, the fireplace. This means Clinton has actually made it to a destination that mommy usually keeps him from getting to. The squeal is sheer joy and the hands banging are uncontrollable excitement. Silence. This is Clinton concentrating as he pulls himself up to his now-favorite standing position. More squeals. This is Clinton enjoying his new view from up top. A small thud. An immediate louder thud. And then THUD. Silence...3...2...1....screaming. This is Clinton having lost his balance...the first tiny thud being the hands he stretched out in an attempt to save himself but doing nothing more than hitting something on the way down. The immediate thud after that being his bottom....which is then followed with momentum leading us to the loud thud of the head. The silent shock and then the desparate cry for MOMMY! Be careful what you wish for....hold them while you can! The days of finding them where you left them are short-lived!

He Stands!

Saturday night, we were enjoying our usual routine of scanning football scores and watching whatever the most exciting game of the night was. While we were discussing the day's events (those that pertained to college football) we both caught Clinton in the corner of our eyes. As we turned to look, he was pulling himself up and stood at the recliner until it rocked back and knocked him over. He's done it several times since but I've been unable to snap a picture just yet...but as soon as I do, I will post it.

Once again, we're so proud of our little Stinker's accomplishments!

Clinton's 8 Month Pictures...and Mommy's Perfect Pumpkins!

I can't even believe my little man is already eight months old! It's funny because at the end of the first three months, I remember thinking..."It's only been three months?" Now at eight months, I'm having trouble figuring out how the time went so fast!

These pictures were interesting due to Clinton's new found freedom in crawling and his interest in eating mulch. He also wasn't his usual smiley self, so I only got a couple of million dollar shots. However, I am finding the more somber shots to be just as beautiful...just in a different, more mommy-like way. The 24/7 smile he usually sports is from his daddy!

I imagine this demonstrates Clinton's true feelings about my beloved photo shoots. :-)
