Below are some pictures of us enjoying Daddy this past Sunday. The kids still had runny noses, so we didn't want to cram them in the nursery at church with healthy kids. So, we packed up the car, stopped by the grocery, and found our way to a park for an afternoon of grilling and playing. The kids had the best time. And Daddy got to enjoy the blessings I get to enjoy every day. It was the perfect early birthday present...

Clinton loved going down the slide. He got brave and decided to go down head first only to be greeted by a little boy that had been giving him fits. One time I looked over and Clinton was hitting this kid on top of the head. Yikes! But, I could see how Clinton thought he was asking for it.
Clinton was not happy about mulch in his face!
Heidi Sage L-O-V-E-D sitting in her wagon watching the kids running all around her. And while she found each and every kid to be interesting, she was always making sure she could see Clinton. Looking and stretching and turning just to make sure he was in her line of sight. I wish I could take the perfect picture that would show the love these two kiddos have for each other...it's just so precious!

Clinton had a great time swinging. He's very particular about how you push him. You must stand behind him. No pushing from the front. No sitting in the swing beside him and pushing with a side arm. I loved that Rodney was here to push him so I could get pictures of his face while he swings. How happy does this face look??

Everyone enjoyed their snacks...especially mommy, but I won't post pictures of me diving into a super yummy burger...it's not pretty.

It was a fun day for all...we look forward to our next Sunday afternoon.

I must also tell this sweet, sweet story about Clinton's birthday gift for his Daddy. Now, that Clinton understands about birthdays, birthday parties, and presents, he was excited to hear about his Daddy's upcoming big day.
We had been talking about Daddy's birthday all day yesterday. On the way to Target we were talking about what we would get him for a present. "Clinton, do you want to get Daddy a present?" Head shaking yes. "What do you think you want to get for Daddy?" "Hmmm." He crossed his arms, pursed his lips, put his pointer finger to his lips, "Hmmm." After taking a few moments of consideration, he replied with, "A pash-ight." "A flashflight?" "Um-hmm," excitedly. "That's a great gift idea Clinton! Do you want to help mommy pick it out?" "JES!"
Once at Target, we made our way back to the "pash-ight" aisle and Clinton picked out the perfect one for his Daddy. He was so excited to have his own gift for Rodney and give it to him tonight at his party.
Although, as much as Clinton loves to play with all the flashlights in Rodney's toolbox, I can't help but think this is one smart kid....with a few personal motives.
Happy Birthday, love.
